Swiss Rifle Matches (unofficial)
We aren't officially recognized by the Swiss government so you
won't get a medal at our match but, we try to simulate the official
match programs.
Swiss rifles are encouraged, but not required.
The official Swiss matches are fired with either modern select fire (STGW-57 or STGW-90) or older straight pull rifles, (M1896/11, K11. K31.)
We allow any of the VMBAR/VMSAR rifles fired in our vintage military matches.

more info.
All shooting is done from the prone position and targets are
placed at 300 yds.
There will be both slow fire and timed
fire strings.
Click Here for the score sheet. for info about the course of fire.
The Obligatorisch match is fired at two different targets so we divide it into two parts to allow fewer target changes, but the scores are added together.
We will fire sighters at a steel target in the beginning to get everyone a
working 300 yd zero before we begin firing for record.
Most of the strings are fired allowing use of a rest. Check the score sheet to see when a rest is allowed.
You may bring a rucksack, backpack, or something to
use for the rested position. You may not use mechanical
bench rests. You can stuff the bag with whatever you like, and can use a sling any time whether using a rest or not.
All Swiss males (and females voluntarily) over 18 are required to qualify annually. They must shoot an age dependent qualifying score in the Obligatorish match.
They may also shoot for medals in the other matches.

All 3 Swiss matches combined will require 53 rounds for score. Plan on 5-10 rounds for sighters, more if
you might have difficulty getting the 300 yd zero.
We will be using a couple of vehicles to make the runs for
scoring, so you won't be worn out from the 600 yd hikes.
*** We are happy to accommodate shooters with physical limitations
that prevent shooting from the specified positions. We will permit
you to shoot from various bench positions that will approximate
the difficulty of the regular positions.
