Vintage Military M1 Garand bench or trench match
The M1 Garand was a game changer for the US troops in WWII.
With a powerful cartridge and its semi-automatic operation it
represented the state of the art in full-sized battle
rifles. As General Patton wrote, "In my opinion, the
M1 Rifle is the greatest battle implement ever
devised."
This is an as-issued match for M1 Garands.* Rifles must
comply with our vintage rifle criteria.

Limited exceptions may be permitted but must be approved by the
match director before the match.
The match may be fired from either a benchrest or prone position.
A sandbag or similar support may be used under the forestock of
the rifle. No rear bags or mechanical rests may be
used. Slings are optional.
SR targets will be placed at the 300yd line with an 18" splatter
target applied. The splatter target scoring rings will be
used for scoring shots in the black. The scoring rings are
slightly larger than the standard SR targets.
Spotting scopes are allowed, and should work well with the
splatter targets for spotting shots in the black.
All stages may be fired using clips. The M1 rapid fire may
use modified two or five round enbloc clips and Johnsons may be
fired five and five using stripper clips.
