Shooting jackets for Vintage Military
matches at CCRPC.
- The shooting jackets allowed in our matches depend on the type of match.
- For VMBAR/VMSAR Matches only lightweight
shooting jackets may be used.
-
These jackets provide elbow, sling, and shoulder
padding, but do
not provide significant additional stability for shooting in the
standing
position.
-
Allowed coats are those generally described as cloth or
canvas
coats.
-
"Hardback", or "Heavy" shooting coats may be
used only if coat is left unbuckled in standing position.
-
This rule is
intended to allow shooters to participate
competitively with only a modest investment in equipment. The
spirit of
the VMBAR/VMSAR matches is to compete with basically the same gear as
an
infantry soldier. While we do allow additional equipment such as
scopes
and mats, these items do not directly improve the shooter's ability.
- For CMP matches, lightweight,
heavy, and hardback coats may be used according to the CMP rules.
Rule added by Vintage Military Match Director, September 2008.
